DESCRIPTION:Our Autumn steam up welcomes the Traction engines back from their summer show season to join us in one last celebration of brickmaking before the Museum closes for our winter months. As the nights darken and the season draws in\, don’t miss the chance to explore our genuinely haunted museum at Halloween. \nFeaturing: Traction Engines\, Train Rides (small extra charge)\,  Halloween Decorations\, Miniature Railway Layouts\, Craft & Gift Stalls and much more to be announced at a later date. \nParking: We have parking on site but our steam events can be very busy. For the Halloween Steam Up our resident bus group are going to be running a bus service from the museum to Swanwick Railway Station and back to the museum via Sarisbury Green. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome the Southern Ceramics group to the Museum for their 50th Anniversary celebration event on Sunday 15th June \nIt’s going to be a fabulous day of talks and demonstrations\, including an installation at the museum too ‘Suspended in Time’ with enthusiasm and courage\, it is shaping up to be a thought-provoking and visually stunning exhibition. \nEntry to the event is FREE with you standard museum entry. \nGuest speakers include:\nTalk 1: Sounding Line by Mella Shaw (talking about her work and the role of ceramic art\nin contemporary activism)\nTalk 2: Materials Matter by Cadi F (talking about her journey from copper creations to\nceramics) \nHands on Clay\nGuided by two of our long serving members\, everybody aged 0 to 100+ years can work\ntogether in an interactive activity using the human hands to shape a collaborative\nartwork. \nDemonstrations\nSome of our members have volunteered to demonstrate their techniques. DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wanted to know more about the factory\, machinery and bricks in our collection? Ever walked around the museum and wondered what you were looking at? Or had any burning questions about the life and times of the Bursledon Brick Company? \nIf so\, we have good news! Once a month our experienced tour guides – Richard and Bob – will lead tours through the museum and answer your questions about the BBC and brickmaking in Bursledon. \n \nDates for 2024 are: \n17th April 11.30am and 1.30pm \n15th May 11.30am and 1.30pm \n19th June 11.30am and 1.30pm \n17th July 11.30am and 1.30pm \n18th September 11.30am and 1.30pm \n16th October 11.30am and 1.30pm \nThese engaging and informal tours\, aimed at regular museum visitors\, are included in the standard museum admission prices and do not need to be pre-booked. Tours last approximately one hour and you are welcome to stay on site and explore the museum and our collections after your tour. \n  \nTours for larger groups and for organised adult groups (such as WI\, U3A and Men’s Sheds) still need to be booked separately – for full details about booked group tours\, click this link.
