DESCRIPTION:BRICK\n \n  \nIntroducing our new open art exhibition for 2026:  \nBRICK  \nSunday 21st June 2026 – Sunday 6th September 2026  \nShed 5 Exhibition Space  \nThe Brickworks Museum  \n  \nBricks are all around us. What do bricks mean to you? We would love to create an inviting and inspiring exhibition to celebrate this theme which is central to our museum. Submissions on this theme for our exhibition will be accepted in any media for display this summer\, here at The Brickworks Museum. This can include drawing\, painting\, printing\, textile\, sculpture\, photography\, abstract\, realism or technical; or surprise us! This is open to professional\, semi-professional or amateur artists. We’d love to see all your entries in whichever style you choose.   \n  \nThere are three categories for entries; adult\, children up to and including age 10 years and children aged 11-17 years old. Work will be by selection of a panel of independent judges and one prize in each category will be awarded by people’s vote on Thursday 2nd September 2026.  \n  \nWant to be inspired? We are opening our doors to potential exhibitors on Wednesday 15th April and Thursday 30th April for a special price of £5 to come to The Brickworks and look at our collection. Please let the front of house staff know you would like the Artist price for reduced entry.   \n  \n  \nAdult competition:  \nA hamper prize is awarded to one artist for a piece that the public vote for. This prize will be announced on Thursday 2nd September.  \n  \nChildren’s competition:  \nThe children’s exhibition will be open to those aged 17 and under. The two categories are 1.) up to age 11 and 2.) age 12 to 17. A winner will be chosen in each category by public vote. The winners will walk away with a young artists’ hamper and will be announced on Thursday 2nd September.  \n  \nAdult competition  \n  \nCost: £5 per artwork entered. Adults may enter up to 5 works\, at £5 each.  \n  \nPlease make your payment to:   \nBursledon Brickworks Museum   \nNat West Bank Winchester   \nSort Code: 55-81-26  \nAccount Number: 89515900  \nReference ART+ your surname  \n  \nPlease send the completed entry form (found on the next page)\, along with images (photographs or scans of the work) to education@thebrickworksmuseum.org Please do not bring in your physical artworks at the entry stage.  \n  \nAll work submitted for The Adult Open Exhibition must be priced and available for sale. The Brickworks Museum will retain a 35% commission on all sales.   \n  \nThe closing date for submissions is 15th May 2025  \nSuccessful applicants will be contacted within two weeks of this date.  \n  \nSelected artists will be asked to deliver their framed artwork on either Tuesday 2nd or Wednesday 3rd June between 10am and 2pm or on Sunday 7th June between 11am and 12pm at the main reception. All 2D entries selected for the Open Exhibition must be in suitable frames with mirror plates attached no larger than A1 when framed/mounted. Please contact us for details of appropriate display restrictions for 3D work  – they must not exceed 2kg in weight.  \n  \nUnsold work will require collecting on 8th\, 9th or 10th September. The Brickworks Museum cannot cover costs relating to the delivery or collection of work.   \n  \n  \n  \nChildren’s competition – open to those age 17 and under  \n  \nCost: FREE – a maximum of one artwork per entrant   \n  \nOPTIONAL: Work can be priced and available for sale.
