DESCRIPTION:BRICK\n \n  \n              \n  \n  \n  \nIntroducing our new open art exhibition for 2026:  \nBRICK  \nSunday 21st June 2026 – Sunday 6th September 2026  \nShed 5 Exhibition Space  \nThe Brickworks Museum  \n  \nBricks are all around us. What do bricks mean to you?  \nCome and see this  inviting and inspiring exhibition to celebrate this theme which is central to our museum. Work form local artists from amateurs to professionals will be exhibited alongside art work from The Brickworks collection itself. You will experience both 3d and 2d art in a variety of media – from photographs of brick constructions\, paintings in acrylic and watercolour to fine drawings in pen and ink. \nWe’d love for you to let us know which is your favourite so there will be a people’s vote box for you to let us know which struck a cord with you. More information on arrival. \nThe exhibition is free to visit included with your entrance fee which you can pay on arrival to the museum.

DESCRIPTION:Bordering on crazy about your terrier? Delighted by everything your dalmatian does? Proud of your precious poodle?  This is the event for you!Enter your dog into our dog show! Enter two fun classes including Best Junior\, Best Female Dog\, Best Male Dog\, Best Trick\, Child Handler\, Veteran and Open Class. Certificates & Prizes to Fifth Place. Timetable TBC.Don’t worry if you don’t have a dog! For your standard entry fee you can see the whole museum IN STEAM and watch the happy hounds compete. \nDog Agility\, Blacksmith\, Heritage Bus\,  Miniature Train Rides (small extra charge for upkeep). \nCafé and Children’s Play Areas also Brickworks Museum with working machinery and Vintage Arcade Machines. \nAlso do not miss: \nTortoises with Tortoise Rescue Society \nAllotment Display and Information\, Magician \nClown\, Children’s Activities \nCrafts including Spinning Demo \nArtwork \nCards \nOld Cottages\, Jams\,  Plants\, Tools and Old Books! \nDog show 12 until 2-30\,  in Marquee with six classes and certificates and prizes. \nSo much to see and do INCLUDING our art exhibition in Shed 5; BRICK. \nPlease email info@thebrickworksmuseum.org for an entry for for your pooch. : ) \nLots for everyone else even if you don’t have a furry friend to bring along –  Tortoise Rescue\, Hedgehog Rescue\,  Allotment Information and Display\,  Local History Display on Allotments and Flower Shows.    Dog Agility Display  and also Fun Dog Show (just turn up with the dog no need to book and entry to two classes included with admission fee to event).       Stalls including Barge Ware\, Spinning\,  Glassware and Artwork\, Magician and Children’s Play Areas.  Cherished Double Decker Bus to climb upon and two Traction Engines.   Brickworks Museum with working machinery and train rides (small extra charge).

SUMMARY:Outdoor workshop: Make a medallion and creature hunt with Youth Options
DESCRIPTION:This summer we are lucky to have the wonderful Youth Options along to deliver some fun outdoor activities. \n  \nOn Thursday 30th July come along have ago at sweep netting all day with Youth Options and see what creatures you can find. There will be all the materials you need to safely and carefully gather some bugs to look at in our wildlife garden. This activity in included in your museum entry. \nWant to do a bit more? Come along and make a medallion to wearing using a variety of tools in a safe environment. This workshop will be with one of the Youth Options workers who will help guide your young person through the skills they need.  Grab a wrist band at the front desk for this activity which will be an extra £4.50 so we can have small safe groups to deliver this workshop.
