WE NEED YOUR HELP

Have you got any images of gardens from the 1900s or the 1970s? Ideally, they would show the gardens of working people who lived in the Southampton or Portsmouth area, particularly those who worked in factories such as the Brickworks.

The museum is creating two new gardens on site. But they are not just any gardens. They will be very much part of the museum and complement the 1900s and1970s room recreations which are popular with visitors. Those rooms evoke the lives of the brickmakers at the start and end of brick-making in Bursledon.

The images will help the museum with research into typical plants and layouts. They might even reveal a gnome or two…
