The railway group formed just before the 2020 lockdown and despite the difficulties of the last 14 months, have made huge strides in redeveloping the miniature railway at the museum to create a new 400m long loop taking in some hitherto unseen aspects of the museum’s impressive collection of steam artefacts.

However, they need your help! They need to raise an additional £5000 to complete the works they have begun.

Here are all the ways you can help, one of which won’t cost you a penny:

  • You can help by donating towards the railway extension, using either the donate button on this post or the donate button on our website.
  • Are you a business looking for a quirky, local and overwhelmingly wholesome sponsorship arrangement? Get in touch, we would love to talk about what we can offer in exchange for your sponsorship.
  • You can help without spending a penny by engaging with our social media post – liking it, commenting on it or sharing it means it will be seen by more people and might help us get the support we need.
  • And finally, you can help by riding the trains at our open days! We are delighted to announce that the Brickworks Railway group will be rolling their wagons out for our train day on July 18th and charging a small fee for rides (£1 adults, 50p children) with all funds going to support the cause. Tickets for this event are on sale now here
