On Sunday 30th May the Brickworks Museum is holding our first Museum in Steam event since 2019.

Join us as we wake the machines from their long winter slumber and bring the site back to life with activities for all ages. Come and experience life at the coal front of Victorian industry in Britain’s last surviving steam powered brickworks. Our original steam engine, installed 1897, will be in steam powering the factory’s brickmaking machine; you can meet the bricks and play the vintage arcade machines.

We are also joined by the bus group (Southampton and District transport heritage trust), the mini car club and the local history society. The blacksmith will be here, the trains will be running rides for a small donation, the traction engines will be out AND there will be a large fairground organ in the yard. As if that isn’t enough, our popular craft stalls are back on site and ready to join us in welcoming you back.

The event is strictly ticketed to comply with government guidelines and the booking link is here

Friends of the Museum can book a free ticket but please do book to make sure we are expecting you on the day. We absolutely cannot wait to welcome you back.
